Interesting fact: according to UK Government GHG Conversion Factors for Company Reporting, one room-night in a hotel in Poland is 33.3 kg CO2e.

How do we reduce the hotel's climate impact and reduce carbon footprint?

  • Find out how guests arrive at the property most often. If by their own car, indicate the nearest train stations on the site, break down the bus schedule and include a map of the area.   • If you are still facing the challenge of designing such a facility take advantage of the green opportunities in the construction sector, the so-called “green building”, and go for the lowest-emission facility possible.
  • Pay attention to the menu you serve to your guests – vegan cuisine is far less carbon-intensive than meat, but you can reduce emissions for meat by working with local food producers. Keep all your sourcing – not just the food – as local as possible; have your suppliers.
  • Be zero waste – provide eco-friendly cleaning products, reusable bottles or glass carafes, segregate trash, and limit plastic where possible, allowing guests to see your efforts. Say goodbye to single-use plastic.
