When does PPWR apply? +
Regulation (EU) 2025/40 was published on 22 January 2025 and entered into force on 11 February 2025; the main rules apply from 12 August 2026, and the key recycling and recycled-content thresholds from 2030. Plan Be Eco shows which deadlines apply to your company.
Who does PPWR apply to? +
Producers, importers and anyone placing packaging on the EU market. If your company packs or imports products in packaging, PPWR applies to you.
How is PPWR different from Directive 94/62? +
PPWR is a directly applicable regulation (no national transposition) and extends the requirements to include recyclability, minimum recycled content and reduction of excessive packaging.
What are the penalties for non-compliance? +
